History and Diplomatic Relations
The Embassy of Burundi in Zambia has a rich history that dates back to the early days of diplomatic ties between our two nations. Established to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation, our embassy plays a pivotal role in maintaining diplomatic relations.

Key Achievements and Collaborations
Over the years, the Embassy has played a crucial role in various diplomatic milestones, including the co-chairing of the COMESA bureau by the Heads of State of Burundi and Zambia. Resident Diplomatic Mission
In 2012, responding to the growing importance of our bilateral relations, the Government of Burundi opened a Resident Diplomatic Mission in Lusaka. Since then, our embassy has been actively involved in strengthening diplomatic ties, with a Chargé d’Affaires appointed in August 2012 and an Ambassador in 2014.
